What is Gaia?

“Gaia” means the interconnectedness of all living things as well as “Mother Earth”. The magnificance of Nature constantly inspires me, as do the Arts and meditation experience. I wanted to bring peoples attention to a need to respect and consider “Gaia” more completely, says Jilda Liddicut, Principal of Gaia School.

I have been going to yoga classes with Jilda at the Gaia School of Yoga for at least 10 years. I really like Jilda’s approach to Yoga, her method is quite unique in that she incorporates this lovely slow flowing movement throughout the session which is done in a meditative way and leaves me feeling energised as well as relaxed. Jilda’s knowledge and understanding of Yoga is deep and shows through in the way she talks us through the movements and poses - she always makes sure we are doing the poses correctly. Yoga has helped and continues to help keep my body fit and supple and I have complete confidence in Jilda’s approach. The class has a strong meditation element which has helped me enormously with stress management, has given me the ability to think more clearly and continues to keep me sustained mentally and physically. With each class this continues to become stronger.

I’ve been attending Jilda Liddicut’s Gaia School of Yoga for over 10 years and the sessions have become an essential and special part of my weekly schedule. For me they are like a mini retreat. For two hours you can shut yourself away from the world and be guided through a range of gentle yoga postures that exercise the whole body along with restorative relaxation and meditation. Jilda creates a warm, loving and relaxing atmosphere and has a talent for wise and insightful reflections just when you most need them.
